The Advanced Roadmaps team faced a growing challenge as new features were continuously added, leading to an overcrowded navigation system. Users found the interface overwhelming, making it difficult to locate essential features and effectively manage their roadmaps. To address this issue, we conducted research to determine the impact on users and secure leadership approval for a redesign.
Users create a roadmap for their team and are frustrated because they are unable to use the full realestate of their screen to view their roadmap. They struggle to use and understand the functions of Advanced Roadmaps.

70% of users adopted the new navigation while workflows stayed uninterrupted. Low-usage components moved to dropdowns, optimizing screen space, and 7 extra Jira rows gave teams better visibility.
